It all started with Gilli...
Gilli came into our lives five years ago when he was just a 12 week-old ball of fluff. As you can see from the photo, he’s come into his own (to say the least). He’s a great little guy and he gives us much joy and happiness.
But with a new dog came new responsibilities and keeping him healthy on a daily basis was foremost on our minds. We did a lot of research on what to feed—and not feed—him, and knowing that supplements are just as important for pets as they are for us, we started our quest for the best we could find.
This adventure was not fun at all. In fact, the process was frustrating and confusing. If you’ve ever walked down the aisles of a pet, vitamin or health food store, you know exactly what we’re talking about. In addition to the unbelievable number of choices, most of the stuff they’re selling isn’t as “natural” and as wonderful as they would have you believe (and that goes for most of the stuff they’re selling on-line as well).
We often gave each other that bewildered look and asked “why does this have to be so hard? Why can’t someone cut through all the clutter and narrow it down to just a few high quality, all natural products that we’d feel good about feeding our dog?”
And in one of those aha! moments usually experienced on a mountaintop somewhere in Tibet, our eyes widened while our lips uttered “How about us?”
Yes…how about us? Jeff had just left one of the world’s best known health and wellness companies and he was looking for his next business venture. It would make sense to take a lot of what he had learned and apply it to pet nutrition.
But if we were really going to do this—if we were going to be different than all the others-- we would have to agree on three unwavering rules:
1. Everything about what we sell and how we sell it would have to be simple (that’s where our name came from). Simple ingredients, simple packaging, simple to incorporate into our busy family life, and a decidedly underwhelming number of choices of products.
2. Each product we sell had to be made of the highest quality ingredients—meaning the most wholesome, natural products available anywhere. They had to be free of preservatives, yeast, sugar, artificial flavors or colors, solvents or pesticides.
3. We would support causes that promoted the health and well-being of pets. That way as our company benefited from the sale of these products, so would organizations that cared for and about pets.
And so, the result of our efforts is Simply Healthy Pets. Our slogan is “a little well-being in every bottle” and we hope our products will provide your pets with much health and happiness. Thanks for making our products a part of their lives.
